DayZ Update 1.30 is out now. Bohemia Interactive released it on October 15, 2026 alongside the DayZ Badlands expansion, and it's one of the biggest base-game updates DayZ has had: motorbikes with crash ragdolls, smarter infected attacks, redesigned inventory icons, returning weapon colour variants and a new terrain system for underground spaces. It also comes with a full wipe on every platform.
Here's what's in DayZ Update 1.30 for everyone, what you only get with Badlands, how the wipe works, and what Bohemia has planned next, all taken from Bohemia's own posts.

When did DayZ Update 1.30 come out?
DayZ Update 1.30 went live on October 15, 2026, the same day as DayZ Badlands. Bohemia's launch post links patch notes for Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, so the update itself is out on all three. It followed a month on Experimental: the 1.30 Experimental build opened on Steam on September 16, with Xbox Experimental following a few days later.
Does DayZ 1.30 wipe servers?
Yes. Bohemia says Update 1.30 "will mark a fresh start for everyone, with a full wipe across all platforms." That means characters, bases and stashes on official servers start from zero. Community servers decide their own wipe schedules, but most will reset for a new major version anyway, so expect a clean slate wherever you play.
Motorbikes in DayZ Update 1.30
Motorbikes are the headline addition, and they're part of the free base-game update, not just Badlands. Bohemia's Experimental article describes two models:
- Moped: comes in blue, red or yellow.
- Enduro: four base colours with swappable coloured plates.
They run on a new two-wheel simulation with leaning, and crashes use ragdoll physics: come off at speed and your character can be knocked unconscious. Bohemia says it updated its animation systems to make bikes possible, and that modders should benefit from those changes too. The flip side is that Bohemia warned some animation mods may break on 1.30, which is what tomorrow's first patch starts to address (see below).
Infected changes and other base-game improvements
- Smarter infected attacks: infected now aim their attacks high, middle or low depending on the height of your head, so crouching or going prone no longer dodges hits the way it used to. There's also a new running heavy attack.
- Over 150 redesigned inventory icons, made consistent so items are easier to read at a glance.
- Weapon colour variants are back: alpha-era colour variants return for select firearms, and some assets get reworked skins.
- Terrain holes: a new terrain-hole system makes proper underground facilities possible. Bohemia says it will be available for other maps and for the modding community, not just Nasdara.
- Quality-of-life fixes across the game; the full list is in the official patch notes linked below.
What about DayZ Badlands?
![]()
Update 1.30 launched on the same day as DayZ Badlands, the paid expansion that adds Nasdara, a 267 km² desert map with sandstorms, rebuildable structures and Morse code bunkers. You don't need it to get anything in this update. For the expansion's price, launch discount and full feature list, see our DayZ Badlands article, and for survival tips, our DayZ Badlands guide.
Is DayZ Update 1.30 on PS5 and Xbox?
Yes. The full wipe applies "across all platforms" and Bohemia has posted separate 1.30 patch notes for Xbox and PlayStation. Bohemia also says it has worked to optimise Nasdara "across all platforms". Its launch post doesn't list console prices for the Badlands expansion, so check your console's store for the local price.
What's next after DayZ 1.30?

Bohemia is already working on fixes:

- Stable patch: will follow on all platforms later; no date yet.
- Performance: Bohemia will keep tuning Badlands, Frostline and the base-game maps using player data and feedback.
- Seasonal events are coming to select maps in the coming months.
We'll update this article when the stable patch gets a date.
