Stormforge launches in Steam Early Access on November 10, 2026. It's an open-world survival crafting game from Roboto Games with a hook nobody else has: magical storms work like dungeons out in the open world, and the tornadoes hunt you, hurling trees, boulders and even enemies your way. You can play solo or with up to eight players in online or LAN co-op, and the free demo is on Steam now.

When is the Stormforge release date?

November 10, 2026, in Early Access on Steam. Roboto Games confirmed it during Steam Next Fest in October, and the Steam store page lists the same date. There's no launch time yet.

What kind of game is Stormforge?

In the land of Sorana, storms are the dungeons. Each one is guarded by tornadoes that chase you down and by hazards like lightning strikes, toxic clouds and fire spurts. You outrun the tornadoes or glide around them, bring down the shield by destroying generators, fight the storm-powered guardians and break the crystal at the center to clear the storm for good. Cleared storms give you storm-infused resources and skill points.

On top of that, huge roaming chaos storms sweep across the whole map. When one comes, you need shelter, and your base needs a magic shield: a crystal pillar at its heart protects it.

Does Stormforge have co-op?

Yes. You can play solo or with up to eight players in online or LAN co-op. Chests in dungeons and ruins have personal loot for every player, so nobody steals from their friends. You can place portals to fast-travel back to base, complete quests together as a group, and tune the difficulty and storm danger in the world settings.

What classes are in Stormforge?

There are five classes: Warrior, Ranger, Mage, Forager and Villager. You unlock them by defeating bosses and spending the crests they drop. There are three bosses at launch (the Squallreaver, the Earthbreaker and The Guardian) and over 100 skills, including more than 20 active abilities, which you can mix from every class you've unlocked.

What can you build in Stormforge?

You can build a base piece by piece, with round walls and floors from your very first camp, or move into an abandoned village house and make it your own. Roboto Games has packed in some handy quality-of-life features: crafting straight from any chest within your crystal pillar's radius, one-button quick-stacking, free gear repairs, and a choice of basic snapping, advanced snapping or free placement.

What's in the Stormforge world?

A procedurally generated world with a new map every time, three biomes (the Whispering Vale, the Howling Woods and the Ember Canyons), over 100 points of interest, dungeons, and ruins where the remains of giant stone Titans jut from the ground. You can build a boat and sail to distant islands. The wildlife has been changed by the storms, too: Galewings escape on mini tornadoes, Mistwolves can't be hurt in mist form, and Thunderhoof deer blink out of bow range.

Does Stormforge have mods?

Yes. It has Steam Workshop support and a built-in level editor, so you can add community-made locations, gear, enemies and custom game rules, or make your own.

Is there a Stormforge demo?

Yes. The free demo covers the first four-plus hours of the game, and your progress carries over into Early Access. It includes up to eight-player multiplayer, three classes and skill trees, the Squallreaver boss, the first two biomes and the wood and stone building sets. Roboto Games has kept updating it since Next Fest, most recently adding lots of new build pieces and fixing enemies attacking players through walls.

How long will Stormforge be in Early Access?

About a year, says Roboto Games, though it could be shorter or longer depending on feedback. The roadmap to 1.0 includes a new mountain biome and boss, new storm types, new character classes and more endgame content. The developer expects "a modest price increase" for 1.0.

How much will Stormforge cost?

The Early Access price hasn't been announced yet. We'll add it once it's on Steam.

ProcessorIntel Core i5-7500 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600

GraphicsNVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580

These are the minimum specs listed on Steam. A broadband connection is listed too.

Is Stormforge coming to PS5 or Xbox?
