What are the new spells in Enshrouded 1.0?
Keen Games has confirmed nine new spells for Enshrouded 1.0, adding crowd control, area damage and a brand-new category: summons.
- Mana Drain: saps a fixed amount of mana per second from an enemy and adds it to your pool.
- Entangle: crowd control that helps against tougher enemies.
- Pillar of Flames
- Blizzard: area-of-effect damage for groups.
- Ball Lightning: another area-of-effect spell for groups.
- Summon Fire Totem, Summon Ice Totem and Summon Shock Totem
- Summon Hollow Skeleton: for players who enjoy necromancy.
Spells will also come in more versions, so you can keep using favourite combinations as you move into later biomes. Mana costs and casting times have been rebalanced around damage, so the biggest spells now take longer to cast.
What are Eternal spells?
There are now 22 tier 7 "Eternal" spell versions. Eternal spells don't use spell ammo, and in 1.0 they can be upgraded like weapons and armour, with perks such as reduced mana cost. Archers get the same treatment: all Eternal arrows are upgradeable, and three new ones are coming, the Eternal Fire, Shock and Bone arrows.

How are wands changing in Enshrouded 1.0?
- Heavy attacks: wands get a heavy attack that pierces enemies and can interrupt weaker ones.
- Aerial Wand Attack: a new mid-air area attack.
- Wand Evasion Attack: wider, piercing projectiles that add flow to dodging.
- Better targeting: soft and hard lock now favour the centre of the screen and closer enemies, with separate settings for ranged and melee.
- Explosive barrels can now be targeted with wands.
What are the new mage and archer skills?
Mages get five new skills: Aerial Wand Attack, Wand Evasion Attack, Advanced Necromancy (more skeletons), Totem Mastery (more totems) and Blast and Cast, which boosts your next staff attack's base damage by 50% within 10 seconds of a wand critical hit. That last one rewards switching between wand and staff mid-fight.
Archers get three: Puncture (more ranged piercing damage), Barrage (a chance to restore bow durability on hits) and Survival Instinct (killing Shroud enemies with a bow or dagger adds time in the Shroud). New aim assist options are on by default for controllers and off for mouse and keyboard.
Will my Enshrouded skill tree reset at 1.0?
Yes. Because skills have been added and moved, Keen Games says your skill tree will be reset at 1.0, "hopefully for the last time". Spend your points before you leave your base on launch day. The level cap also rises to 50 for players and 55 for gear, with a new biome and tougher enemy variants to match.
Best mage build tips for Enshrouded 1.0
- Solo players: summons (totems and skeletons) plus Advanced Necromancy and Totem Mastery give you extra bodies to hold enemies off.
- Groups and crowds: Blizzard and Ball Lightning are the new area-damage options.
- Tough single targets: open with Entangle, then use Blast and Cast by landing a wand crit before a staff attack.
- Long fights: Mana Drain and the reduced-cost perks on Eternal spells keep you casting.
These are our suggestions based on Keen Games' official descriptions. Exact numbers may change at launch, and we'll update this guide once Enshrouded 1.0 is out.
What is Sparkworks in Enshrouded?
Sparkworks is a new logic system arriving with 1.0. It connects inputs, such as levers and pressure plates, to outputs, such as doors and trapdoors, so you can turn a base into a puzzle or an adventure. Keen Games' introduction video is below.
