When does the Battlefield 6 Dead Space event start and end?
The Convergence event runs from October 20 to November 10, 2026, according to EA's Game Update 2.1.1.0 notes. Some earlier coverage gave November 7 as the end date, but EA's update notes say November 10. It arrived a week after Season 5: Siege of Vegas launched on October 13.
What is the Dead Space event about?
In EA's story, Pax Armata digs up an ancient alien artifact in the vaults of Area 51 while hunting for new weapons and technology: a Marker, the infamous alien relic from Dead Space. In EA's words, "Those who get too close succumb to violent madness that threatens to become an extinction-level event." Your job is to stop it spreading.
How does Marker Incursion work?

Marker Incursion is a new 16-player PvE mode, meaning you and other players team up against the game rather than each other. EA describes it like this:
- You fight through hordes of AI-controlled Marked Soldiers, Pax Armata troops driven mad by the Marker.
- You can pick up the Pulse Rifle, Dead Space's iconic weapon, as a Battle Pickup.
- The goal is to destroy the Marker and stop the Convergence before the madness spreads.
The mode is set in Area 51, the Season 5 map with a desert base on the surface and secret tunnels underneath, so expect the close-quarters fighting to happen underground.
What are the Battlefield 6 Dead Space rewards?
EA lists these Dead Space rewards for "fighting against Convergence":
- The "Aegis VII" Soldier skin
- The "RIG-Certified" SMG Weapon Package
- Two Weapon Stickers
- Soldier Patches
- A Player Card Background
- Two in-game Bundles
EA hasn't published the exact challenge needed for each reward, or whether the two bundles are earned or bought in the store. Check the event tab in-game for the requirements, and we'll update this guide once they're confirmed.
Can you play the Dead Space event for free?
Yes. EA says Marker Incursion comes to both Battlefield 6 and REDSEC, and REDSEC is free to play. Battlefield 6's free Steam trial ended on October 20, but REDSEC remains free on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Tips for Marker Incursion
EA hasn't released detailed tips for the mode, so these are general ones based on what it has confirmed:
- Grab the Pulse Rifle whenever you can: it's the event's signature Battle Pickup.
- Stick with your squad. In a 16-player PvE mode against hordes, spreading out gets you overwhelmed.
- Play Support or Assault. Ammo, healing and revives matter more against waves of enemies than long-range sniping.
- Learn Area 51's tunnels. Season 5's Area 51 map has underground routes that suit close-quarters fights.
