When does Battlefield 6 Season 5 Phase 2 come out?

EA says Phase 2 "arrives on November 10". It hasn't given a time yet, and the full Update Notes with every weapon change will be posted "prior to the upcoming patch". We'll update this article when the time and patch notes are out. Season 5 itself started in October with the Las Vegas content and the Rapid Royale mode for REDSEC.

What is the European Casino map?

European Casino is a night-time, infantry-only map inside a large European-style resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Fights move from open courtyards into crowded gaming floors and narrow hallways, and destruction matters: you can blow through breakable walls to open flanking routes, or "just play in the lazy river", as EA puts it. The big one is the massive center tower, which can come crashing down and permanently change how the map plays.

EA compares its flow to Operation Metro, the tight back-and-forth infantry map fans have loved since Battlefield 3, "updated with the modern tactical destruction of Battlefield 6". Note that European Casino is not available in REDSEC.

How does the Casino Heist event work?

Casino Heist is a limited-time event that runs across Battlefield 6 and REDSEC from the start of Phase 2:

  • Defeated enemies drop Contracts, extra objectives such as capturing points, reviving teammates or exploring the European Casino map.
  • Completing Contracts earns DOUGH, the event currency.
  • You spend DOUGH on cosmetics: weapon packages, vehicle skins and new Heist Mask soldier skins.
  • Claim every standard item on the reward track and you unlock one final challenge with a bonus completion reward.

EA says a dedicated Event Guide with the full reward list is coming. It follows the Battlefield 6 x Dead Space event from October.

What new weapons and gadgets are in Phase 2?

  • NSW4 Carbine: a close-quarters carbine with rapid handling. It comes with subsonic rounds by default and has a unique Supersonic ammo option.
  • ADS-17 6GHz (Signal Jammer): a deployable gadget that jams enemy radars and drastically cuts the range at which enemies can share active spotting.
  • M142 MRAS: a highly mobile truck that provides "devastating indirect fire" on a fast, flexible platform.

What weapon balance changes are coming?

Weapon balance ranked among the top things players wanted changed in EA's recent community surveys. Phase 2 aims to give each weapon type a clearer role and tackle high pick-rate setups:

  • Extended magazines: the high-capacity extended mags on the SCW-10 and KV9 get handling penalties, so a bigger mag means a real trade-off in agility.
  • More magazine options: extra capacities and feeding options for several weapon types, including some LMGs and shotguns.
  • Buffs for overlooked attachments: including the Flared Magwell and Frangible Ammo.
  • M44 optics: EA is testing custom optic attachments for the M44 revolver, "because sometimes, you just want to put an 8x scope on a hand-cannon for the memes".

EA says these changes may still shift; exact numbers come with the Update Notes.

What else is in the update?

  • Multiplayer Leaderboards: tabs for Career, Game Modes and Classes, a Seasonal Filter (from Season 5 onward) and a "Sticky Player Row" so you always see your own standing.
  • REDSEC: proximity chat in Rapid Royale, plus clearer timers, indicators and notifications for Battle Royale contracts and missions.
  • Vehicles and audio: no new vehicle tuning yet. EA is tracking vehicle survival times and win rates first, and says footstep audio work isn't finished.
  • Portal: builders can pick Custom AI skins (including the new Marked Soldier), turn soldiers into Necromorphs, use Halloween hallucination sounds and 10 new screen effects with 121 adjustable parameters.

How much is Battlefield 6?

Battlefield 6 costs $69.99 / £59.99 / €69.99 on Steam, and is also on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Battlefield REDSEC, the battle royale, is free-to-play. About 23,000 people were playing Battlefield 6 on Steam when we checked on November 3. Our Battlefield 6 review looks at whether it's still worth playing a year on.
