When is the Mayday: The Survival Island release date?
November 2, 2026. Pequi Studios announced the date on day one of PAX West in September and confirmed it again during Steam Next Fest in October. There's no confirmed launch time yet. Wishlisting the game on Steam gets you a notification when it's out.
What kind of game is Mayday: The Survival Island?
After a mysterious crash, you wake up alone on a remote island, injured and disoriented. From there it's classic survival crafting: gather resources, craft tools, hunt wild animals, fish the shoreline, grow crops, raise animals and build a homestead. Once your base is stable, you sail out across the archipelago.

The islands range from misty swamps and sun-bleached beaches to ancient cemeteries and forgotten ruins, each with its own resources and dangers. Along the way you find strange symbols, magical totems and pieces of a lost civilization, and you fight powerful guardians. Pequi Studios says there are no forced objectives: "You decide how and when the story unfolds."
Is Mayday: The Survival Island multiplayer?
No. The Steam page lists it as single-player only, with no co-op mentioned.
Is there a Mayday: The Survival Island demo?
Yes. The free demo is on Steam, and it got a big update for Steam Next Fest (October 19 to 26). It added:
- Moving buildings: pick a building up with the hammer and put it down somewhere else, instead of tearing it down.
- Home building and decorating: walls, doors, floors, tables, chairs, rugs, vases and more.
- A Comfort system: the more you build and decorate, the higher your Comfort, which unlocks bonuses such as more health and slower energy use.
- Crafting from chests: items in chests are used automatically when you craft.
- Chest upgrades in place once your workbench is upgraded.
- Eight more languages.
After Next Fest, a second update made matching items stack automatically when dropped, made the early Slimes weaker and moved them away from the center of the island, cut the Forge's cost from five iron ingots to three, and moved the Sewing Table (which makes a bigger backpack) ahead of the Drying Frame.

How much will Mayday: The Survival Island cost?
The price hasn't been announced yet. We'll add it when it appears on Steam.
Is Mayday: The Survival Island coming to PS5, Xbox or Switch?
No console versions have been announced. It's coming to PC on Steam, and the Steam page lists full controller support, including PlayStation controllers.
What are the Mayday: The Survival Island PC requirements?
It's very light. Steam lists these minimum specs:
| OS | Windows 10, 64-bit |
| Processor | Intel Core 2 Duo E6400 or AMD Phenom X2 or equivalent |
| Memory | 6 GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 (1 GB) or AMD Radeon R7 240 (1 GB) |
| Storage | 500 MB |
Who is making Mayday: The Survival Island?
Pequi Studios develops it and indie.io publishes it. The studio calls it its "first big project" and says more than 40,000 players have wishlisted the game. It was playable at the indie.io booths at Gamescom and PAX West this year.
