What's new in Insurgency: Sandstorm Operation: Echoes?
Operation: Echoes is a smaller, focused update. It's built around two returning weapons and a visual refresh of two older maps, with new paid cosmetics and a big batch of bug fixes on top. There's no new map or game mode this time.
UM45 and MP40: the returning SMGs
Two familiar submachine guns are back in loadouts:
- UM45 (Security): a modern close-quarters SMG that trades raw fire rate for heavy .45 ACP stopping power and steady control.
- MP40 (Insurgents): the classic 9mm automatic, described by the developers as "a legendary piece of battlefield history" with unyielding reliability.
Both are built for clearing rooms, so expect to see them on close-quarters maps.

Power Plant and Hideout map overhauls
Two of the game's older maps, Power Plant and Hideout, get a visual pass: more detailed interiors and exteriors and refined map geometry. The update also fixes a spot on Power Plant where players could get stuck behind a fence.
New DLC: gear sets and weapon skins
Operation: Echoes adds four premium cosmetic DLC packs:
- Seasoned Warrior Gear Set (Security): six pieces (headgear, eyewear, top, gloves, bottom and boots).
- Remnant Gear Set (Insurgents): five pieces (hat, top, gloves, bottom and boots).
- Woodwork Weapon Skin Set (Security): skins for the M16A4, MP5A5, M870, M240B, M24 and M45.
- Reclaimed Weapon Skin Set (Insurgents): skins for the M16A2, MP5A2, TOZ-194, PKM, L96A1 and M1911.
Everyone also gets a new Curtain Regulation Moustache and two new uniform camos, DPM M90K and Desert Tigerstripe.

Operation: Echoes patch notes: the biggest fixes
The release notes list dozens of fixes. The ones you're most likely to notice:
- Bodies no longer block bullets: collision boxes on bodies were stopping projectiles across game modes.
- Automatic fire no longer pauses briefly near the end of a magazine.
- 4x optics now have consistent magnification across scopes and viewing modes, and the 3x YMA95-1 reticle now matches the point of impact.
- Controller and sensitivity settings no longer reset after every match.
- Bots no longer move strangely in smoke or instantly destroy fire support helicopters.
- Players who join during warm-up can now use the final supply boxes and mid-game ammo crates.
- The "First Round of the Day" XP bonus is now only granted once a day, as intended.
- An exploit on Last Light and a spawn-killing spot on Tell have been fixed.
- Community servers no longer use excessive CPU, even when idle.
There are also many animation and attachment fixes, such as clipping on the M24, TK-33, MP5A5 and Desert Eagle. One known issue remains: scope reticles and laser sights may look misaligned on higher-magnification scopes.
