What is Bonko's Carnival in Fantasy Online 2?

Bonko's Carnival is a new area for level 90 and above. You get there by stepping into the mystical mirror in Ghoulish Graveyard, and a teleport to the carnival is now enabled there. Inside are new NPCs, quests, a crafting menu and a store, plus six new monsters and two bosses, new outfits and drops, and a new Clownin' Around debuff to watch out for.

How do carnival tickets work?

Patch 149 adds three kinds of ticket:

  1. Carnival Tickets drop when you defeat mobs anywhere in Bonko's Carnival.
  2. Collect enough and exchange them for Golden Tickets.
  3. Take your Golden Tickets to Wacko the Clown, who trades them for Prize Tickets up to five times a day.

Prize Tickets are spent at Jackpot Jingles' prize shop, which has a range of rewards. The more tickets you save, the more prizes you can take home.

What is the Last Laugh quest and Bonko's Bonker?

A new quest line from Honko sends you through a series of carnival-themed tasks. Finish every one of them and you earn the update's top reward: Bonko's Bonker.

How does housing work in Fantasy Online 2 now?

This is the change long-time players have been waiting for. Patch 149 enables Plot 1 purchases in active Mirabella Meadows neighborhoods. According to the patch notes:

  • Deeds are account-wide, and your housing is shared across worlds.
  • Deed tooltips now show the plot's address.
  • You can edit your plot, and your decorations are saved with the property, so they stay with the house when its deed changes hands.

The update also fixes a bug where an old purchase confirmation could block you from retrying, and where interrupted purchases left the wrong plot, coin or Market information.

What else is in Patch 149?

The patch notes are long. The highlights:

  • Visual effects for all 35 debuff types, and splash and celebration effects when you cast and catch while fishing.
  • A new Stuck skill that shares the five-minute /stuck cooldown.
  • An Abandon option for daily and seasonal quests, with a confirmation.
  • A Codex map button that walks you to the map's teleport arrival point.
  • A new Codex Feed for screenshots, with "For You" recommendations, map photo pins, voting, likes and sharing through chat links (Ctrl+Shift+F). Screenshots hide your coin and gem balances.
  • Steam: native crafting and Market notifications on Windows and macOS, and character levels plus Rebirth and Ascension badges on character selection.
  • Custom skins and Skin Studio: new window, HUD and focus artwork options, and six example skins (XP, 7, 10, 11, GoldenGate and GoldenGate Dark).
  • Many bug fixes, including bank items appearing misplaced, party members missing faction points from shared kills, monsters failing to respawn, and false connection timeouts.

The Gemster shop has also rotated: the Skele Girl Box (100 Gems) and Lion Head (40 Gems) replace the Spartan Box and SIX SEVEN item.

What's next in the Season of Screams?

Patch 149 is part of Fantasy Online 2's Season of Screams, which started with Patch 148 on October 10. The developer says the next event will be the return of Turkey Takeover in November, with a new item to collect. No exact date has been given yet.

What is Fantasy Online 2?

Fantasy Online 2 is a 2D pixel-art MMORPG that mixes retro charm with modern features. You build your character around Strength, Stamina, Agility and Intellect, craft weapons, armor and storage bags, and fill a collection system that stores every equippable item in the game. There are quests and battle passes, parties and player-run guilds, a bank, and a player-run Market. You can play up to four characters.

It entered Steam Early Access on January 6, 2025. According to the developer, players now have 15+ zones, hundreds of enemies and thousands of items. Fantasy Online 2 is set to leave Early Access once there's content up to ascended level 120, which the developer expects to take at least two years. The price is planned to rise gradually as new content ships, and the community is involved through polls and feedback on Patreon and Discord.
