The Casualties: Unknown release date is Monday, November 9, 2026 at 3pm CET (2pm GMT / 9am ET / 6am PT). After almost three years of development, solo developer Orsoniks is bringing the full game to Steam with publisher Oro Interactive.
Casualties: Unknown is an unforgiving cave-exploration survival sim with a simulated heart and limb system: you bandage wounds, fight infections and stop bleeding before you pass out, all while descending through the layers of an alien planet.

When is the Casualties: Unknown release date?
Orsoniks announced on October 15 that Casualties: Unknown launches on November 9, 2026 at 3pm CET. In the UK that's 2pm GMT, and in the US it's 9am Eastern and 6am Pacific.
How much will Casualties: Unknown cost?
The game will cost $22.99 with a 15% launch discount, plus bundles that lower the price further. The soundtrack (over three hours and more than 50 tracks) will also be sold at launch, alone or bundled with the game. Orsoniks says there will be proper regional pricing for both; UK and EU prices haven't been listed yet.
What's in the full game?
The full release adds layers 6 to 11, three separate endings, three playable characters, 40 achievements, and what the developer calls "a truckload" of balance changes, bug fixes and quality-of-life additions. There are 10 main layers plus a shorter 11th layer and an optional bonus ending sequence.
You start as the experiment and unlock the two other species by finishing a run with the previous character. Each has its own stats, quirks and playstyle.

What kind of game is Casualties: Unknown?
You're one of thousands of test subjects sent by your captors to retrieve lost cargo from a foreign planet. Each layer brings new hazards, and you have to adapt as you descend. The store page lists:
- A fully simulated cardiovascular and limb damage system
- Character traits to raise on each run: Intelligence, Strength and Resilience
- Crafting to improve your odds, with plants you can use to patch yourself up
- 300 items to find, including loot left by previous expeditions
- Adjustable loot and danger settings from the main menu
Losing a limb isn't permanent any more: a prosthetics system with three tiers was added this year, and the top tier is an upgrade over your normal limbs. Mood matters too, because too much doom and gloom makes survival harder.
Is there a Casualties: Unknown demo?
Yes, a free demo is on Steam and has had big updates, including a reworked heart simulation (v6.0) and difficulty modifiers (7.0). But Orsoniks says the demo won't be updated with the full game's changes, because back-porting them would be too much work.
Is Casualties: Unknown on PS5 or Xbox?
No. Only a Windows version on Steam has been announced.
Casualties: Unknown PC requirements
The minimum specs are very low: Windows 10 (64-bit), an Intel Core i3-8130U at 2.2GHz and 500MB of storage. The game supports 16:9, 16:10 and ultrawide screens.
