Soulmask Bone Bash Arrives October 22: Free Día de Muertos Story, Paid Skeleton DLC and a Controller Overhaul
Soulmask Bone Bash launches October 22 with a free Día de Muertos storyline, a paid DLC of skins and building sets, festival servers and a controller rework.

Soulmask Bone Bash launches on October 22, 2026. It's the survival game's first festival-themed update, inspired by Mexico's Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead), and it comes in three parts: a free festival storyline for everyone, a paid Bone Bash DLC with building sets, skins and a new mask, and limited-time Bone Bash Festival Servers. The same update also brings a major controller overhaul and a reworked tutorial.

When does Soulmask Bone Bash come out?
CampFire Studio has scheduled the Bone Bash update for October 22, 2026, and the festival servers open the same day. The studio hasn't given an exact release time. The paid DLC's Steam page still says "October 2026" and doesn't list a price yet.
What's free in the Bone Bash update?
A new festival storyline
When you log in after the update, you'll find that you've died once and come back as a walking skeleton. Awareness X tells you to travel to a Barbarian camp in the rainforest (or the River Delta if you're playing on the Shifting Sands map) and pay your respects at the Marigold Altar to get your body back. The camps are in starter areas, so they're easy to reach, and they've been turned into a Land of the Dead full of marigolds, painted skulls and skeletal Barbarians. Paying your respects permanently unlocks the skeleton look.
Free Día de Muertos furniture
CampFire worked with community mod author leesiontoo on a new set of Día de Muertos furniture. At leesiontoo's request, it's being added as a free update for everyone and isn't tied to the paid DLC.
Controller support and a new tutorial
Controller play gets a major overhaul, with a new radial menu and UI changes. CampFire admits it may still have rough edges and is opening a dedicated controller feedback channel on Discord after the update. The new-player tutorial has also been rebuilt from the ground up, with a focus on deploying Tribesmen as followers and using Assignments. The studio says it's also gathering videos and saves of Tribesman AI problems to rework their behavior.
What's in the paid Soulmask Bone Bash DLC?

- Carved Stone building set: a new building material inspired by the Americas, so you can build an Aztec-style pyramid.
- Marigold set: 43 Día de Muertos decorations, including the Marigold Altar that summons your ancestors to dance, marigold flower beds and party war drums.
- Skins: several skeleton skins, a Día de Muertos Black Panther saddle, and headpieces for each type of Tribesman so you can tell them apart.
- Homecoming Revelry mask: a purely recreational mask that pulls nearby players into the celebration and occasionally attracts a new (weak) Tribesman. Its Mimicry Mode opens a flower portal that brings Tribesmen home from the wild. CampFire says it gives no combat or stat advantages.
What are the Bone Bash Festival Servers?
On October 22, CampFire will open a batch of official Bone Bash Festival Servers where you can tour the developer-built Bone Factory and Bone Plaza. Their settings:
- 5x PvE: XP, gathering and crop yield 5x; Barbarian taming speed and animal and crop growth 3x; carry weight and inventory 2x; up to 10 Bonfires per player.
- Two tribe sizes: servers for 4-player tribes and servers for 10-player tribes.
- Peaceful mode: no raids and no decay.
- Limited time: the servers are wiped after 30 days.
The Bone Factory was built by community builder 【护月孔雀】 using the DLC's Carved Stone and Marigold sets. It's also being added to the game's Blueprint library, split into several structures you can place with one click. Some need Unlimited Build Mode because of their size and material cost.
