The Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy PC requirements are fairly modest for such a good-looking game: a GTX 1060 or RX 5500 XT with 6GB of video memory gets you 30 FPS at 1080p on Low, and an RTX 3060 Ti or RX 6700 XT is recommended for 60 FPS at 1080p on Ultra. You'll need 16GB of RAM and 75GB on an SSD.

It's also Steam Deck Verified, PS5 Pro Enhanced and optimised for Xbox handhelds. Below are the full specs, how it runs on each platform, and what Asobo has fixed since launch.

Can my PC run Resonance?

If your PC has a 4-core, 8-thread processor, 16GB of RAM, a graphics card with at least 6GB of video memory and an SSD with 75GB free, you meet the minimum. Two things catch people out: the game won't run from a hard drive (an SSD is required), and your graphics card must support Shader Model 6.6, which rules out some older cards that otherwise look powerful enough.

Is Resonance on Steam Deck?

Yes. Valve rates Resonance Steam Deck Verified: the default controls work, button prompts match the Deck, the text is readable and the default settings run well. Steam player FreddysGB reports a stable 30 FPS on the Medium preset with upscaling, and around 40–50 FPS on Low, in the first two chapters.

On Xbox, the store lists it as Handheld Optimised, so it's also set up for Xbox handheld PCs such as the ROG Xbox Ally X20.

How does Resonance run on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox?

On PlayStation, Resonance is PS5 Pro Enhanced, so it has improvements for Sony's more powerful console. On Xbox it's Optimised for Xbox Series X|S and supports Xbox Play Anywhere, meaning one purchase (or Game Pass Ultimate) covers both Xbox and PC, with your progress carried across. There's no PS4 or Xbox One version.

Does Resonance stutter on PC?

At launch, some PC players reported stuttering and shader compilation problems. Asobo acknowledged them in a Steam post on 2 September: "We have also seen the feedback about stuttering and shader compiling problem (and some other bugs), we are looking into it to bring a fix as soon as we can!"

That said, many players found it ran very well from day one. Several of the most helpful Steam reviews praise its performance, with one player calling it "rock solid" and another saying "The game's performance is excellent."

What did the 6 October Resonance update fix?

Asobo released a big Bug Fixes update on 6 October 2026. The changes most relevant to performance and PC players:

  • Reduced stutter when approaching a new Nemesis area
  • Fixed 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio support
  • AMD: fixed Anti-Lag not working when frame generation is turned off
  • Fixed the language switching at boot, and controls that couldn't be rebound (book navigation, Focus Attack, Prism unlock)
  • Improved Nemesis navigation and NPC behaviour, plus fixes for a save issue in chapter XIII and a crouch issue in chapter IX
  • Combat fixes, including enemies surviving after being pushed off edges

If you had problems at launch, make sure you're on the latest version before trying again.

How much space does Resonance need?

Steam lists 75GB of storage, and Asobo's earlier FAQ said to expect "around 76Gb on PC." Either way, plan for about 75–80GB on an SSD.
