The Xbox Game Pass price in 2026 starts at £6.99 / $9.99 a month for Game Pass Essential and goes up to £16.99 / $22.99 a month for Game Pass Ultimate. There are four plans: Essential, Premium, Ultimate and PC Game Pass. These are the current prices on Xbox's own US and UK websites, plus what you get with each plan.

Xbox Game Pass prices at a glance

Game Pass Premium$14.99/month£10.99/month
Game Pass Ultimate$22.99/month£16.99/month
PC Game Pass$13.99/month£10.99/month

Prices are from xbox.com in October 2026. Taxes may be added depending on where you live, and Xbox often runs introductory offers: at the time of writing, new subscribers could get their first 14 days of Essential or Premium for £1 / $1.

How much is Xbox Game Pass Ultimate?

Game Pass Ultimate costs $22.99 a month in the US and £16.99 a month in the UK. It's the only plan that includes everything: 400+ games on console, PC and other devices, new games on day one, EA Play, Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics, 15 hours of cloud playtime a month, online console multiplayer and 4x Rewards points.

How much is Game Pass Premium?

Game Pass Premium costs £10.99 / $14.99 a month. You get 200+ games on console, PC and more devices, new Xbox-published games within a year of launch (not on day one), 10 hours of cloud playtime a month, online console multiplayer and 2x Rewards points. Xbox notes that Call of Duty games are excluded from the "within a year" promise.

How much is Game Pass Essential?

Game Pass Essential costs £6.99 / $9.99 a month. It's the cheapest way to play online multiplayer on Xbox consoles, and it also includes 50+ games, 5 hours of cloud playtime a month and Rewards points. Essential replaced the old Game Pass Core plan, which itself replaced Xbox Live Gold.

How much is PC Game Pass?

PC Game Pass costs $13.99 a month in the US and £10.99 a month in the UK. It covers 300+ games playable on PC only, new games on day one, EA Play and 2x Rewards points. It doesn't include cloud gaming or console multiplayer.

Which Game Pass plan should you get?

  • You only play online on Xbox: Essential is the cheapest way to unlock console multiplayer.
  • You want a big library but can wait for new releases: Premium.
  • You only game on PC: PC Game Pass gets you day-one games for less than Ultimate.
  • You play on console and PC, want day-one games or use cloud gaming a lot: Ultimate.

How have Game Pass prices changed?

When we first covered Game Pass pricing in July 2024, Microsoft had just raised Ultimate to £14.99 / $19.99 a month and PC Game Pass to £9.99 / $11.99, and the annual Game Pass Core plan to £55.99 / $74.99 a year. It also announced a new console tier, Game Pass Standard, at $14.99 a month. The plans have been reorganised since then: Core became Essential, Standard became Premium, and the prices are now the ones in the table above.

How do I cancel Xbox Game Pass?

You can cancel any time to stop future charges. Turn off recurring billing in your Microsoft account (account.microsoft.com/services) or on your Xbox console before your next billing date. Xbox's terms say any price increase comes with at least 30 days' notice.
