Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Story Details Revealed
Get ready to dive back into the world of Final Fantasy VII! Square Enix has given us our first look at Final Fantasy VII Rebirth’s story and gameplay, and it’s shaping up to be an epic ride.
In Rebirth, Cloud and his friends are on a mission to stop Shinra from destroying the planet. Shinra wants to weaponize the Lifestream, the flow of life energy that exists beneath the planet's surface. If they succeed, it could mean the end of life as we know it. Luckily, our heroes are hot on Shinra’s trail to put a stop to their sinister plans.
One of the most exciting reveals is that we’ll get to play through Cloud’s flashback scene in Kalm, where he and Tifa tell the story of their shared past for the first time. This glimpse into Cloud’s mysterious backstory is sure to thrill long-time fans.
Of course, no Final Fantasy VII story would be complete without the infamous villain Sephiroth. His evil scheme to summon Meteor and become a god poses a huge threat. Defeating Sephiroth will be no easy task, but if anyone can do it, it’s Cloud and his brave friends.
With jaw-dropping graphics, an expanded story, and thrilling action combat, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is shaping up to be the Final Fantasy remake we’ve all been waiting for. The future is looking bright for this legendary franchise, and I for one can’t wait to play!
What We Still Don't Know About Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
Get excited—there’s still so much mystery surrounding Final Fantasy VII Rebirth! While we got a thrilling first look at gameplay and story details, Square Enix is keeping a lot under wraps.
The full scope of the story
We know Rebirth will cover the Midgar section of the original game, but how far into the full FFVII saga will it go? Will it end after our heroes escape Midgar, or continue further into their journey? The possibilities are endless!
New characters
FFVII introduced so many iconic characters, like Aerith, Tifa, and Sephiroth. Will Rebirth introduce any new major players to the story? We can’t wait to meet them! New allies, enemies, and everything in between—bring them on!
Mini-games and side quests
The Gold Saucer! Fort Condor! Chocobo breeding! FFVII was packed with fun diversions and side activities. What kind of mini-games and optional quests will Rebirth have in store for us? If they’re even half as entertaining as the originals, we’ll be busy for hours.
Next-gen graphics
If the trailer is anything to go by, Rebirth is going to be a visual stunner. Just imagine how jaw-dropping locations like the Sector 5 slums and Wall Market will look with modern graphics! And the summons—if we get to see Ifrit, Shiva and the gang in their full fiery and icy glory, we’ll be in for a real treat.
The unknown is the most exciting part. 29 February 2024 can’t get here fast enough—we’re counting down the days until Final Fantasy VII Rebirth!
