5 November 2026. Nintendo first announced the remake in June and confirmed the date at its Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Direct in September, where series producer Eiji Aonuma showed the first gameplay. It's a week after the Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition console went on sale on 29 October.

What's new in the Ocarina of Time remake?

  • Completely overhauled visuals and refreshed sound.
  • Symphonic orchestral music.
  • Voice acting and fully voiced, expanded cutscenes, with new and expanded character dialogue.
  • Jumping and dashing, enhanced controls and modern camera movement.
  • Bow and Hookshot aiming with buttons or motion controls, adjustable in Options.
  • Hall of Fallen Foes, where you can learn about enemies you've beaten, and a "Threads of Time" tapestry that tracks your progress.

How do you play the ocarina on Switch 2?

Three ways: with the buttons as before, by humming into the Switch 2's microphone, or by playing your own instrument into it. Nintendo's ZELDA NOTES companion service in the Nintendo Switch App also includes an ocarina on your phone, plus daily accomplishments and location challenges.

How much is Ocarina of Time on Switch 2?

The US Nintendo Store lists the digital edition at $59.99. Buy it digitally before 23 November 2026 (11:59 p.m. PT) and you also get a Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary digital wallpaper through My Nintendo. Check your local Nintendo eShop for UK and European prices.
