When is the Football Manager 27 release date?
Football Manager 27 launches globally on 10 November 2026. Sports Interactive says all digital versions arrive that day on every supported platform. The physical PC version also launches on 10 November, while the physical PS5 edition follows on 20 November 2026. That's six days later than FM26, which came out on 4 November 2025.
Can you play Football Manager 27 early?
Yes, on PC and Mac. A Launch Preview will be playable one to two weeks before 10 November for players who pre-purchase from a SEGA-approved digital retailer. It replaces what used to be called the Beta or Advanced Access, and Sports Interactive says it aims to be closer in quality to the final game than previous early builds. The exact start date, pre-purchase details and discounts haven't been announced yet.
What platforms is Football Manager 27 on?
- PC and Mac: Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Xbox PC app, including Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
- FM27 Console: Xbox and PS5, including Game Pass on console.

The price hasn't been announced, and Steam doesn't list one yet. For reference, FM26 costs £49.99 / $59.99 on Steam. Sports Interactive says pre-purchase and discount details will be shared before launch. If you have Game Pass, FM27 is included from day one.
What's new in Football Manager 27?
Sports Interactive has published a series of deep dives on the Football Manager 27 changes. The headline features so far:
A clearer interface and fewer clicks
The navigation bars have been rebuilt with drop-down menus, many screens are now full-screen instead of small cards, and key actions sit in a control panel at the top of each main screen. News appears directly inside messages, you can swap the information tiles on many screens, and there's ultrawide monitor support with three scaling modes. Sports Interactive says there will be fewer cards than in FM26.

A deeper football world: cup draws and deadline day return
Cup draws are back, and Transfer Deadline Day is a bigger event again, with agent offers moving to the Recruitment screen and more of them arriving on deadline day. News is more varied and tied to the stage of the season, and hitting Continue now takes you to different parts of the game instead of always returning to the news feed.

Training and Tactical Effectiveness
Training has been redesigned around preparing for the next match, and it's now reachable from the main navigation bar. A new Tactical Effectiveness system, which replaces Tactical Familiarity, shows how well your squad can carry out your tactics, based on player ability, preparation for the next match, player buy-in and tactical understanding. A related Tactical Complexity measure means detailed tactics may struggle with lower-league squads.
Tactical Tweaks and Match Engine upgrades
A new Tactical Tweaks system lets you apply several in-match instructions at once, such as switching your wingers or sending the goalkeeper forward. Shouts have been revamped, and Sports Interactive has expanded its work with Hawk-Eye Innovations for more realistic running, jockeying, skill moves and attacking runs into the box.
A more atmospheric match day
Crowds react to big moments and dress for the weather, stadiums come in more styles, rain makes the pitch look wet, and a time-of-day system lets light fade during a winter afternoon game. Cutscenes are more varied, and player models get more body types and hair physics.
Manager creation, accessibility and other upgrades
The manager creator adds more face and body options, hats, scarves and gloves, and the option to play as a manager using a wheelchair, shown throughout the game including trophy lifts. Accessibility options add larger fonts and fewer animations. The 2D match view has smaller player discs and ball, the In-Game Editor is now full-screen, and staff give more practical advice on transfers and tactics.

Will Football Manager 27 fix the problems with FM26?
That's what most fans want to know. FM26 is rated Mostly Negative on Steam, mainly because of its new interface. Sports Interactive hasn't said that FM27 is a direct response, but its first deep dive is all about "smoother navigation" and "reducing the number of clicks", and several older features are coming back, such as cup draws, deadline day drama and copying training plans. The studio also notes that its gameplay footage comes from a development build, so details may change before launch.
