The ATMOSFAR release date is 29 October 2026, when Apog Labs' sky-high survival adventure launches in Early Access on PC. The Swedish studio announced the date on Steam on 7 October with a new trailer, almost five months after it delayed the original 20 May launch.
ATMOSFAR is published by SHUEISHA GAMES and set on Tycos, an alien planet of floating islands. When is the ATMOSFAR release date?
ATMOSFAR launches in Early Access on 29 October 2026. Apog Labs confirmed it on Steam on 7 October: "ATMOSFAR will be flying into Early Access on 29 October 2026." The studio says a further update with more release details will come before launch day, so the unlock time and price should follow soon.
Steam is the confirmed storefront. Gematsu's report of the announcement also lists the Epic Games Store for the same day, but Apog Labs' own Steam post and website only link Steam so far.
Why was ATMOSFAR delayed?
ATMOSFAR was due on 20 May 2026. On 13 May, Apog Labs announced it needed more time "to ensure that your first flight across Tycos is as smooth and free of turbulence as possible". The studio said the game was fully playable, but "not how we'd like you to experience it", and that its "ambition, scope and creative direction" had grown during production.
In a June dev blog, the team compared ATMOSFAR to a ship that had grown from a skiff into a cruise liner, harder to steer quickly. Since then, its monthly dev blogs have focused on polish, performance and bug fixing in the run-up to Early Access.
Is ATMOSFAR a survival game?
Yes, with a strong flying and building twist. According to the Steam page, you have to:
- Manage resources: your backpack houses a life support system powering both you and your tools.
- Look after your Wasps: they need fuel, maintenance and repairs so they're ready when things get dangerous.
- Extract scrap: break down old heaps of junk into parts you can reuse.
- Craft and upgrade: manufacture fuel and consumables, and use artifacts to upgrade parts and sections of your craft.
- Survive the weather: jet streams and thunderstorms make flying harder, and you'll want cover when day turns to night.
- Defend yourself: Tycos has threatening creatures and drones as well as strange plants and lush biomes.
What are the Wasps in ATMOSFAR?
![]()
The Wasp is ATMOSFAR's agile flying vessel. It can zip through the sky or hover in place, and it comes in four classes, each with its own look, abilities and handling. Apog Labs has named three of them:
- Utility Wasp: deploys a foldable camp.
- Cargo Wasp: airlifts heavy scrap.
- Striker Wasp: stuns enemies.
You can swap engine parts, hover sections or whole hulls to build your preferred setup, and add paint jobs.
What is the Cloud Cruiser?

The Cloud Cruiser is your large, heavy mobile airbase. Its hangar holds your Wasps and their fuel, you can furnish the lounge however you like, and you pilot it yourself from the helm. Its sections can be upgraded to support longer, tougher expeditions, and in co-op the whole squad manages and builds one shared Cruiser.
Is ATMOSFAR multiplayer?
Yes. ATMOSFAR supports online co-op for up to four players, and you can also play solo. Friends can camp out together, hitch a ride on someone else's Wasp or fly in formation. Steam lists single-player, online co-op, full controller support and Steam Cloud saves. An internet connection is required for multiplayer.
