State of Decay 2 Updates End for State of Decay 3 Focus
After six years, State of Decay 2 updates end. Undead Labs is now focusing on State of Decay 3. The developer promises State of Decay 3 will be the best zombie survival sim yet.
End of Updates
State of Decay 2 has received nearly 40 updates over the years. These updates added new modes, maps, story content, and more. However, Undead Labs is shifting resources away from this game. The final content update will be the 38th for State of Decay 2.
This last update will address longstanding issues and offer quality-of-life improvements. It will also unlock seasonal content permanently for all players. Despite this, State of Decay 2 will stay online. Players who own the game or access it through Xbox Game Pass can continue playing. Save games will remain intact.
Moving Forward
Undead Labs will no longer accept bug reports or provide support for State of Decay 2. The focus is now fully on State of Decay 3. The developer has not yet announced a release date for the new game. More information will be shared at a later time.
The studio expressed gratitude for the community’s support. They are eager to create a standout zombie survival experience with State of Decay 3. The game was first announced in 2020, but details remain scarce.
