Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween Event – It’s the Same as Last Year!
The Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween event has returned, but unfortunately, it's identical to last year's festivities. As a fan, I'm left feeling disappointed by the lack of new content and creativity in this seasonal update.
Recycled Trick-or-Treat Tasks
Same Old Candy Buckets
From now until October 31, the Plaza is once again dotted with purple, green, and orange candy buckets. Collecting these candies feels like déjà vu. The Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween event offers the same forages, and while picking them up can be fun, it's disheartening to see no new additions.
Limited Candy Spawn Rates
These candy buckets only spawn a few times a day. Using the candy to restore energy isn't advisable, as you might fall short when completing event tasks. It's the same issue we faced last year during the Halloween event.
Unchanged Event Tasks
Repeating the Same Challenges
The tasks are located under the Dreamlight tab in the village section, marked by a dark purple Jack-o-lantern icon. Here's the list:
- Sugar Rush — Eat a sweet-based meal.
- Trick or Treat — Give 10 villagers candy.
- A 3-Course Halloween Meal! — Eat all three colors of candy.
- Villainy Wears Many Masks — Wear a mask.
- Stockpiling Pumpkins — Harvest 100 pumpkins.
These challenges are identical to last year's Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween event. There's no fresh twist or additional task to keep things interesting.
Rewards Lacking Innovation
While the rewards include carved Jack-o-lanterns and Mickey Mouse pumpkins, they're the same as before. It's disappointing that the event doesn't offer new decorations or items to celebrate the season uniquely.
Missed Opportunities for New Content
No New Decorations or Characters
With the game's frequent updates and new character additions, it's a shame that the Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween event didn't introduce new themed pumpkins or decorations. Incorporating recently added characters into the event could have made it more engaging.
Fans Left Wanting More
Many players were hoping for something different this year. As one fan mentioned, "Even if different themed pumpkins were up for grabs rather than just Mickey, it would feel like more effort had been put into this year's Halloween event."
Conclusion: Hoping for a Better Next Year
Although I'm glad to have another chance to participate in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween event, the lack of new content leaves much to be desired. Here's to hoping that next year's event brings fresh challenges and rewards to reignite the excitement.
