Are the DT 770 PRO 80 ohm good for gaming?

Yes. They aren’t sold as a gaming headset, but that’s part of the appeal: you get studio-grade sound without the plastic and RGB. beyerdynamic itself recommends closed-back headphones when you’re using a microphone, because they isolate you from outside noise and stop sound leaking into your mic. That makes the DT 770 PRO a great match for streaming and voice chat with a separate microphone.

Are the DT 770 PRO comfortable?

Very. This is where they stand out for us. The soft velour ear pads sit around your ears rather than on them and breathe better than leather, the padded headband spreads the weight, and at 375 g with the cable they’re light enough for long sessions. beyerdynamic describes the clamp as a firm fit for professional use (about 3.5–5.5 N), and in our experience they stay put without pressing too hard.

How do the DT 770 PRO sound?

Superb. beyerdynamic built them for monitoring in studios, and they’re used by music producers, sound engineers and broadcasters around the world. Its bass reflex system gives deep, punchy low end without drowning out detail, highs are clear, and the closed design keeps the sound in and the noise out.

Why choose 80 ohms?

beyerdynamic sells three versions: 32 ohms for phones and mobile devices, 80 ohms as the universal studio choice, and 250 ohms for professional gear with a dedicated headphone amp. The 80 ohm version is the all-rounder: it works well with PCs, audio interfaces and controllers, without needing a powerful amplifier.

Are the DT 770 PRO wired?

Yes, and we see that as a plus. No batteries to charge, no wireless lag and no pairing: plug them in and they work. The cable is fixed rather than detachable, which is the one thing beyerdynamic changed on its newer PRO X range. Everything else is replaceable, including the ear pads, and beyerdynamic is proud that they last.

What’s not so good?
