Soulmask Bone Bash<\/strong> launches on 22 October 2026<\/strong>. It’s the survival game’s first festival-themed update, inspired by Mexico’s D\u00eda de Muertos (Day of the Dead), and it comes in three parts: a free festival storyline<\/strong> for everyone, a paid Bone Bash DLC<\/strong> with building sets, skins and a new mask, and limited-time Bone Bash Festival Servers<\/strong>. The same update also brings a major controller overhaul and a reworked tutorial.<\/p>\n

When does Soulmask Bone Bash come out?<\/h2>\n

CampFire Studio has scheduled the Bone Bash update for 22 October 2026<\/strong>, and the festival servers open the same day. The studio hasn’t given an exact release time. The paid DLC’s Steam page still says “October 2026” and doesn’t list a price yet.<\/p>\n

What’s free in the Bone Bash update?<\/h2>\n

A new festival storyline<\/h3>\n

When you log in after the update, you’ll find that you’ve died once and come back as a walking skeleton<\/strong>. Awareness X tells you to travel to a Barbarian camp in the rainforest (or the River Delta if you’re playing on the Shifting Sands map) and pay your respects at the Marigold Altar<\/strong> to get your body back. The camps are in starter areas, so they’re easy to reach, and they’ve been turned into a Land of the Dead full of marigolds, painted skulls and skeletal Barbarians. Paying your respects permanently unlocks<\/strong> the skeleton look.<\/p>\n

Free D\u00eda de Muertos furniture<\/h3>\n

CampFire worked with community mod author leesiontoo<\/strong> on a new set of D\u00eda de Muertos furniture. At leesiontoo’s request, it’s being added as a free update<\/strong> for everyone and isn’t tied to the paid DLC.<\/p>\n

Controller support and a new tutorial<\/h3>\n

Controller play gets a major overhaul, with a new radial menu and UI changes. CampFire admits it may still have rough edges and is opening a dedicated controller feedback channel on Discord after the update. The new-player tutorial has also been rebuilt from the ground up, with a focus on deploying Tribesmen as followers and using Assignments. The studio says it’s also gathering videos and saves of Tribesman AI problems to rework their behaviour.<\/p>\n
