The Star Wars: Galactic Racer review<\/strong> scores are in, and critics are thrilled. Fuse Games’ run-based racer has an 87 Top Critic Average on OpenCritic<\/strong>, with 96% of critics recommending it, and an 88 on Metacritic<\/strong> for PS5. It’s one of the best-reviewed games of October 2026. On Steam, players are a little more divided, mostly because of missing PC options such as key rebinding.<\/p>\n

What is Star Wars: Galactic Racer?<\/h2>\n

Galactic Racer is a high-speed racer set just after Return of the Jedi, when the Empire has fallen and an unsanctioned racing circuit called the Galactic League<\/strong> takes off in the Outer Rim. You play as Shade<\/strong>, a lone racer chasing revenge against the league’s ruthless champion, Kestar Bool<\/strong>, helped by the engineer Hibi.<\/p>\n

The twist is its structure: it’s a “runs-based” racer<\/strong>, borrowing from roguelites. You build your ride, push your luck across a run of races, and the greater the risk you take, the bigger the reward. You can pilot landspeeders, speeder bikes, new skim speeders and, of course, podracers<\/strong>. There are also Arcade and Scenario events, and online races for up to 12 players with cross-platform play.<\/p>\n
