It&#8217;s built around four drops: <strong>Community Update #5<\/strong> with official mod support, a festive <strong>Winter Update<\/strong>, the <strong>Entropic Break<\/strong> expansion (now due in <strong>Q1 2027<\/strong>) and a fourth, still-classified update. The roadmap also lists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Mod items:<\/strong> create your own items, gear and more.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mod NPCs:<\/strong> create your own enemies and pets.<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>in-game mod browser<\/strong> to download and host modded sessions.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>journal upgrade<\/strong> with a multi-quest system, which Deep Field will expand in later updates and DLC.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>new pet<\/strong>: &#8220;a new foggy friend&#8221; from the mists of Anteverse 1.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Balance adjustments<\/strong>, including damage reworks and item balancing, plus new head ties.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>No date has been given yet. Deep Field says it&#8217;s coming &#8220;soon&#8221;, and that it brought this update forward because Entropic Break was delayed.<\/p>\n<h2>How will mods work in Abiotic Factor?<\/h2>\n<p>From Deep Field&#8217;s modding FAQ:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mods are hosted on <strong>mod.io<\/strong> and found through an <strong>in-game mod browser<\/strong> on the main menu, which downloads and installs them automatically.<\/li>\n<li>Mods work on <strong>PC, Xbox and PS5<\/strong>: &#8220;everyone will have access to mods&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Abiotic Factor Mod Editor<\/strong> is a separate, <strong>free download for Windows<\/strong>, and you don&#8217;t need to own the game to use it.<\/li>\n<li>Mods are compatible with existing saves by default, though some may be safer on a new playthrough.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mod collections<\/strong> are supported from day one, and joining a modded server checks that you&#8217;re running the same mods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What&#8217;s in the Abiotic Factor Winter Update?<\/h2>\n<p>The second stage is a free seasonal update with the <strong>Brewing Bench<\/strong> for &#8220;fun and festive brews&#8221;, a <strong>Tree Grow Plot<\/strong> to grow your own apples and more, and <strong>new festive feast recipes<\/strong> from the Carson Cookbook. The roadmap says it arrives as <strong>paid DLC alongside a free update<\/strong>, and lists:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New sectors, including the <strong>GATE Leaf Test Facility<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>New portal worlds and &#8220;our biggest portal world yet&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The Bounty of the Bahamas<\/strong>: new enemies, items and more.<\/li>\n<li>New sidequests and a new crossover.<\/li>\n<li>More free content: <strong>boats, pets, fish<\/strong> and more.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Price and exact date haven&#8217;t been announced.
