Keen Games launched the full version of its co-op survival RPG on <strong>Thursday, 15 October 2026<\/strong>, ending more than two and a half years of Early Access on Steam and bringing the game to <strong>PS5<\/strong> for the first time. Enshrouded 1.0 went live on 15 October 2026 on Steam and on the PlayStation Store, where it was listed for 5pm UTC (6pm BST). Keen posted the full changelog the day before and a highlights video on launch day. If you already own Enshrouded on PC, 1.0 is a free update, and your Early Access saves carry over.<\/p>\n<h2>How did the Enshrouded 1.0 launch go?<\/h2>\n<p>Very well, by the numbers available on day one:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Players:<\/strong> more than <strong>64,000<\/strong> people were playing at the same time on Steam on launch day, and that&#8217;s before counting the new PS5 players.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reviews:<\/strong> Enshrouded&#8217;s overall Steam rating stays <strong>Very Positive<\/strong> at 86% of more than 107,000 reviews. The biggest difference is group size: the PlayStation Store lists <strong>up to 8 online players<\/strong> on PS5, while PC supports up to <strong>16<\/strong>. Online play on PS5 needs PlayStation Plus. The PS5 version is rated for moderate violence, in-game purchases and user interaction.<\/p>\n<h2>How much is Enshrouded 1.0?<\/h2>\n<p>On Steam, Enshrouded costs <strong>\u00a334.99 \/ $39.99<\/strong>, and it launched with <strong>10% off until 29 October<\/strong>, bringing it to \u00a331.49 \/ $35.99. On the UK PlayStation Store, the PS5 version is <strong>\u00a332.99<\/strong>, or <strong>\u00a329.69 with PS Plus<\/strong> until 4pm on 29 October. Early Access owners on PC don&#8217;t pay again, and they get three exclusive decorative props for their base through <strong>Redeem Add-Ons<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2>Is Enshrouded 1.0 cross-platform?<\/h2>\n<p>No. Keen&#8217;s launch FAQ says Enshrouded won&#8217;t have crossplay at launch. The studio is working on bringing cross-platform play to the game but has no estimate yet for when it will arrive, so PC and PS5 players can&#8217;t play together for now.<\/p>\n<h2>What players are saying about Enshrouded 1.0<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail aligncenter wp-image-24442\" src=\"https:\/\/igamemag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/enshrouded-1-0-campfire-800x450-1.webp\" alt=\"Players rest around a campfire under a moonlit night sky in Enshrouded\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" srcset=\"https:\/\/igamemag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/enshrouded-1-0-campfire-800x450-1.webp 800w, https:\/\/igamemag.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/10\/enshrouded-1-0-campfire-800x450-1-768x432.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From the most helpful Steam reviews posted on launch day:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/profiles\/76561198060251683\/recommended\/1203620\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">C-137_MrMeeSeeks<\/a>, with around 650 hours in Early Access, says Keen &#8220;restored my faith in Early Access games&#8221; and praises it as one of the most responsive developer teams they&#8217;ve seen.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/profiles\/76561197993098619\/recommended\/1203620\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Capr1ce<\/a> (367 hours) puts it among their top games of all time, alongside Skyrim, for its handcrafted world and atmosphere.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/profiles\/76561198038931832\/recommended\/1203620\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Ripley<\/a> calls it the best building system they&#8217;ve seen in any game.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/profiles\/76561198805453583\/recommended\/1203620\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Intellect Inside<\/a>, with more than 1,600 hours, loves the world and building but still finds the combat frustrating, especially enemies that sprint and lunge.<\/li>\n<li>Performance is the most common complaint: <a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/profiles\/76561198267225412\/recommended\/1203620\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Michaeliszt<\/a> reports frame rates jumping up and down, and <a href=\"https:\/\/steamcommunity.com\/profiles\/76561199087471854\/recommended\/1203620\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">DannyDaDeer<\/a> doesn&#8217;t feel the optimisation has improved.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Keen says 1.0 runs better and uses less memory than before, so if you hit performance problems, it&#8217;s worth re-testing your graphics settings with the new renderer.<\/p>\n<h2>What&#8217;s next for Enshrouded?<\/h2>\n<p>Keen calls the story of Embervale concluded &#8220;for now&#8221;, adding that the Shroud still lingers and the Fell still want more territory. The studio has confirmed it is working on <strong>crossplay<\/strong>, and it describes Sparkworks and Adventure Sharing as tools it will keep building on, letting players create and share their own adventures. No post-launch roadmap or Xbox version has been announced yet.
