You can now change appearance in Once Human<\/strong> for free. Since the version 3.0.7 update on 28 September 2026, reshaping your face and body and dyeing your hair at the Floor Mirror<\/strong> no longer costs anything, so you don’t need a Chrysalis Token or Butterfly Dye any more. Here’s how it works now, and what happens to any tokens you already bought.<\/p>\n

How do you change your appearance in Once Human?<\/h2>\n

  1. Build a Floor Mirror<\/strong> in your territory if you don’t have one. It’s a furniture item in the build menu (press B on PC and open the Furniture tab).<\/li>\n
  2. Interact with the Floor Mirror<\/strong> to open the character editor.<\/li>\n
  3. Reshape your face and body<\/strong>, or use the colour palette<\/strong> to change your hair colour.<\/li>\n
  4. Save your new look.<\/strong> Because it’s free, you can come back and change it again whenever you like.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Starry Studio says you can now visit the Floor Mirror “at any time to freely reshape” your face and body and change your hair colour “without any item consumption requirements”.<\/p>\n

    Is changing appearance in Once Human free now?<\/h2>\n

    Yes. In a September 2026 developer blog, Starry Studio said the old system was “overly complex”: to tweak your look, you had to understand two different items, buy them in the shop, then go back to the mirror to use them. The studio wanted players to “prioritize trying the styles you like” instead of worrying about the cost first. The change arrived with the version 3.0.7 update on 28 September 2026<\/strong> (Pacific time).<\/p>\n

    What happened to Chrysalis Tokens and Butterfly Dye?<\/h2>\n

    Both items have been withdrawn from every sales channel<\/strong>: the Shop, the Wish Bazaar, the new and returning player recruit shops and currency quick redeem. If you already have some, they don’t become useless. You can convert them into Colorful Badges<\/strong>:<\/p>\n
